Excitement from St Louis conference

Had a great Time in St Louis. Shaklee's conventions are always so exciting. Filled with new science, products, incentives, trips. entertainment, education and so much more.

I love visiting a new city every year
Sightseeing, trying the food & drinks. St. Louis is known for their BBQ. Great pulled pork. Had that twice. Good beer too. Went to the Anheuser-Busch brewery, That was neet. It's amazing how much beer they make and we consume in the US. Got to visit the tasting room. Had the coldest freshest beers you can find. The Arch was cool. The gateway to the west. I always learn a lot when I travel. The Conference was at the America's Center which is home to the St Louis Rams. It was huge. 5000 Shaklee people sitting in a stadium that holds 75,000 people.
It looked like hardly anyone was there. I also got to have lunch with a childhood friend of mine Lori. We have not seen each other in 28 years. She lives in St. Louis and she picked me up and we did BBQ lunch and talked for 4 hours. We reconnected on facebook. How neet is that?

My Room at the Renaissance St. Louis Grand was fabulous. I could see the Mississippi river from my room as well as the city.

The centerpiece of this Global Conference so far was the unveiling of FastTrack, which is both a system for seeing the mechanics of how to build a Shaklee business quickly and systematically, and also a new set of significant milestone bonuses that are now an incorporated part of the compensation plan. Who couldn't use an extra$34,000.00 and 4 trips all expense paid in their life?

Don't forget Shaklee's Get Clean Non toxic cleaners are now in the White House as well as the Vice President's residence. How cool is that?

The last big news in my opinion were three new clinical studies that we will be hearing about much more about in the coming weeks. Here is a quick review:

SUNY Buffalo study of the impact of Vivix on Nrf2, in the paraphrased words of Dr. Carsten Smidt, "the mother of all anti-aging genetic regulators". The placebo controlled study involved health adults eating, according to Dr. Smidt, "an insulting 910 calorie typical junk food breakfast laden with fat, carbohydratel, and a little bit of protein" and watching the impact on Nrf2 activity. With the "food" alone, Nrf2 activity was totally flat to declining over five hours. The same meal eaten with a serving of Vivix created a massive spike of Nrf2 activity after several hours, with a significantly elevated, protective level maintained after five hours. This study apparently supports a new paradigm that anti-aging genetic regulators can be stimulated to have a profound effect immediately, rather than over time, as previously thought.

The second study involved a new method for determining how much vitamin D is required in the form of supplementation to bring Vitamin D levels into the optimal range. This study was presented by Shaklee at a major conference in May, and was so well received, that it was published last week with no changes in the Journal of Lipidology, the most prominent scientific publication in that field.

The third study is really astounding. Shaklee teamed with Dr. Ann Moscona of Cornell, one of the nation's leading virologists. The result of that research was an entirely new technique, the Human Airway Epithelial model, for studying the activity of viruses. Phase II of the study involved using that model to study the impact of Nutriferon on viral activity. The stunning result was that Nutriferon was found to be a potent up-regulator of Natural Killer Cells, which are specific white blood cells that target tumor cells and cells infected by pathogens like viruses. What a finding in the time of H1N1 flu and continued concern about cancer.

There was so much more, but these are the highlights so far.

Chemicals in your Shampoo (click here for safe options)

Chemicals in Shampoo
I read this on the internet today. I wanted to share it with you.
I would rather spend my dollars with a company that cares about your health instead of these companies that purposely add cancer causing chemicals to our personal care products and only care about their bottom line. That is why I am so passionate about the Shaklee corporation. They make high quality products and they do not use any harmful chemicals. I love their Shampoo line and their new baby line is amazing.

Shampoo is supposed to clean your hair of dirt and oils that accumulated throughout the day, but smelling fresh won’t do you any good if you’re scrubbing harmful chemicals into your scalp. A recently released report by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetic Use revealed that a number of companies that manufacture children’s bath products have added formaldehyde and 1,4-dioxane to their formulas, both of which are thought to increase susceptibility to cancer in lab rats and contribute to chronic disease and certain disabilities.

According to Dr. Catherine Karr, assistant professor at the University of Washington and director of the Pediatric Environmental Health Unit, both substances are considered to be human carcinogens, which means they're high health hazards . "It does not make public health sense to put carcinogens in children's products that will be used in such a way that repeated direct exposure will occur." Be sure to read the ingredients of your bath products carefully to avoid these harmful substances.

You want to Go Green, Not sure where to start?

Going green is not as hard as you may think. Check back often for new ideas and tips.
Obviously recycling your household waste is an easy way.
A big way to help is to use green household cleaners. I don't think people realize how toxic the cleaners we use really are. Kids with Asthma, Allergies , cancer and more.
Did you know?
Many all-purpose cleaners may contain toxins that can be absorbed through the skin or inhaled. Synthetic solvents may cause hormone disruptions. Organic solvents such as butyl cellosolve are neurotoxins and nasal irritants. Another toxin, morpholine, can cause liver or kidney damage. Glass cleaners contain ammonia, a poison that can irritate skin, eyes, and the respiratory system. How about our poor pets. I had a friend who was washing his floor with spic and span and turned around to see his dog drinking it. The dog almost died. I am happy to say he now uses Get Clean. Have you experienced cleaning the bathroom with the window open and the fan on and you still got dizzy and tired? I used to think I was lazy but now I know it was the chemicals knocking me out. I don't have that problem anymore.
What I like about Shaklee's Get Clean kit is it saves you thousands of dollars, saves your health and helps the planet. http://www.savemoneygetclean.biz/

1 Get Clean kit eliminates 108 pounds from the land fill, eliminates 236 pounds of green house gasses and is the equivalent of planting 10 trees!
The organic Basic H2 is amazing. You fill the 3 spray bottles with water. 2 drops That's right 2 drops makes a window mirror cleaner costs 1 cents. 1/4 teaspoon makes an all purpose cleaner cost 5 cents. 1 & 1/2 teaspoons makes a degreaser and cost you 33 cents! As you can see Oprah and Dr. Oz likes the get clean too.
You don't throw away the bottles , you just fill them back up with water and do your drops again. These cleaners work better than any chemical I have ever tried and no funes to harm your health and the health of your children and pets.
Remember, there are lots of shades of Green. Shaklee has been green for over 50 years!

Could you imagine if every household switched to Shaklee's Get clean?

If your home is anything like the average U.S. home, you generate more than
20 pounds of household hazardous waste each year (the EPA designatestoilet cleaners, tub and tile cleaners, oven cleaners, and bleach as hazardous waste).

Safe , healthy, nutritious food is our right not a luxury. See Food Inc.

Documentary on Industrial Agriculture Is “Must-see Viewing for Everyone Who Eats”
On Friday, June 12, “Food, Inc.” the new documentary exposé of the safety hazards and corporate control of our current food system will open in New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco, followed by the nationwide release on June 19th. The Center for Food Safety (CFS) provided the filmmakers with both expertise and critical information, and CFS founder and Executive Director Andrew Kimbrell urged all concerned with the food they eat to see the film.
“Food, Inc.” is must-see viewing for everyone who eats,” said the Center’s Kimbrell. “I urge American consumers to make it a point to see this important and revealing film, which will, I hope, help to permanently change the way we all eat.”
In “Food, Inc.”, filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the veil on our nation’s food industry, exposing unsafe and inhumane corporate practices that have been hidden from the American consumer. The film further shows how the government's regulatory agencies tasked with protecting our food and farmers – USDA and FDA – have instead acted complicitly with the corporations, causing the current food safety crisis.
Kimbrell and CFS have published groundbreaking books on our current unsustainable food production system, including Fatal Harvest; the Tragedy of Industrial Agriculture. “The message should be clear,” Kimbrell said, “There is not one American consumer who wants food made using industrial agricultural methods. These practices benefit a handful of companies who profit greatly at the expense of our farmers’ way of life and the public’s health.”
As “Food, Inc.” demonstrates the corporate control of our food has given us new strain of E. coli—the harmful bacteria that cause illness for an estimated 73,000 Americans annually; widespread obesity, particularly among children; and an epidemic level of diabetes and heart disease among adults. The film also describes the abusive persecutions and prosecution of farmers around the country by Monsanto as it attempts to push its genetically engineered crops.
Featuring interviews with such experts as Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation), Michael Pollan (The Omnivore's Dilemma, In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto) along with forward-thinking social entrepreneurs like Stonyfield's Gary Hirshberg and Polyface Farms’ Joel Salatin, “Food, Inc.” reveals surprising, and often shocking, truths about the safety of what we eat, the often horrifying way it is produced, and the corporate powers that actually control our food supply.
After the film’s June 12 premiere, the documentary will open nationwide starting June 19. For more information on “Food, Inc.”, visit http://www.foodincmovie.com/index.php
We hope you'll get out and see this great film!
